José Tavares’ essay “Política. Tragédia. Comédia” was published in Revista E (Expresso). In this essay, he discusses comedy and tragedy in politics and defends that “Tragedy and comedy seek an internal coherence, otherwise the polis will tire and citizens will turn away from political and other leaders. The institution we call democracy cries out for this proximity between people and power”.
